Bouldering Wall

Years: Prep - 6

Location:  Columboola EEC

Students work with a partner to use basic climbing skills to traverse a low bouldering wall.  Students learn correct techniques for 'spotting' their partner and are encouraged to discuss then practice ways of assisting their partner to complete their climbing goal.

  •  Practise fundamental movement skills and movement sequences using different body parts
  • Cooperate with others when participating in physical activities

      Years 1 and 2

  •  Incorporate elements of effort, space, time, objects and people in performing simple movement sequences
  • Propose a range of alternatives and test their effectiveness when solving movement challenges

       Years 3 and 4

  •  Practise and refine fundamental movement skills in a variety of movement sequences and situations
  • Explore how success, challenge and failure strengthen identities 

      Years 5 and 6

  •  Participate positively in groups and teams by encouraging others and negotiating roles and responsibilities
  • Propose and apply movement concepts and strategies with and without equipment
